Where a thing goes
Memory is not one undifferentiated pile. Where something lands decides when it comes back to you, which is the part that matters.
That last one is the quiet one. “This function takes cents, not dollars” does not need anybody to remember to look it up — it arrives when the file is opened, before the mistake.
Nothing is overwritten
When something is superseded, the old record stays and the new one supersedes it. You keep the history of your thinking, not just its current state, and every record shows the chain both ways: what corrected it, what it corrected. An agent that finds a correction follows it. One that finds a record with no corrections is told that this alone does not make the record current — which is a different, and more honest, claim.Answers come with receipts
Ask why something is the way it is and you are shown what was read. Every card carries a History of the events and decisions that name it. An AI that recalls is guessing; one that cites is answerable. If the record does not know, you are told it does not know.Nothing goes stale quietly
Every surface knows whether what it shows is derived live, rebuilt automatically, or written prose that is now ageing — and says so, with an “as of” date. Confidently wrong is worse than empty. - Tell it to remember something. Say it in chat and it goes into the record.
- Read anything. There is no hidden state — every record is inspectable in the knowledge view.
- Edit what the project stands for. Standing documents are yours to rewrite, with a review screen before every save.
- Export or delete everything. Ask and it is done. Your record is a git repository, backed up nightly.
